Zentangle journals! Each participant starts a journal, mails it to the next person, adds to the journal they receive and round they go, usually for a whole year! The artist ends up with their own journal, filled with the work of other artists! For more information on Zentangle, visit www.zentangle.com

Hues and Views
In the fall of 2007, WCA began a collaborative round robin of art journals and altered books thematically based on different color palettes. The theme was inspired by WCA/NH member Fran Blazon and the book True Colors: A Palette of Collaborative Art Journals. In the fall of 2008, the books were exhibited at The Gallery at WREN along with a sampling of Artist’s Trading Cards from the WCA/NH archive.
The show was set up so that each book was displayed
on a white chair. The viewer could pick up the book and sit down on the
chair, so they could take time looking through each book. The opening
reception was a sophisticated version of musical chairs and a lot of
fun! The show at WREN was very well received and the “Altered Book Workshop”
WCA/NH offered at the gallery sold out.
The Journals were exhibited again at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Fuller Hall outside of their library in October 2009.
